Test Administrators

After you have been approved by the National Registry as an Exam Administrator, you are the representative for National Registry of Food Safety Professionals. You are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the exam activities. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide each candidate with an equal opportunity to pass the exam by applying the general principles of fairness and equality.
  • Uphold the National Registry's nondiscrimination policy. The National Registry does not discriminate on the basis of age, sex, race, religion, ethnic origin, disabilities, or marital status
  • Safeguard the exam by following all security procedures and practices. Security is the most important aspect of the exam administration
  • Perform ethically by being aware of possible conflicts of interest.
  • Agree to follow the terms as described on the Exam Administrator's Agreement Form.

You must also:

  • Conform to all requirements of NRFSP as outlined in the National Registry Exam Administration manual;
  • Be in and remain in good standing in regard to exam security and procedures
  • Verify the identity of the candidate using only National Registry approved government-issued identification
  • Provide a secure and comfortable testing environment
  • Select the appropriate exam
  • Keep log in information secure at all times and do not share with anyone
  • Keep financial accounts with the Registry in good standing

National Registry reserves the right to limit or restrict online test access status at any time.

Administering the Exam

  • Review the Exam Security Guidelines
  • Verify the identification for each candidate
  • Have candidates place all belongings in another part of the room. Cell phones must be turned off and stored with all belongings.
  • Assign seating for candidates
  • Enter into the testing portal making sure that all other programs are turned off on the computer
  • Approve the addition of exam to shopping cart
  • Have candidate complete the registration screen
  • Release the exam
  • Have the candidate begin the exam
  • Monitor the exam candidates
  • Sign the candidate out once they have completed the exam
  • Print the score report for candidates:
    • Passing Report
    • Failing Report
